A Secret of the Andes, Whispered to the World.
The House of Vicuña
Atelier Amauta is devoted to vicuña, the rarest natural fiber on Earth and revered since Inca times as the princess of the Andes. Founded in Argentina and rooted in the Andes above 4,000 meters, where vicuñas roam freely, the house was created to preserve and elevate a legacy that has endured for centuries.
Our signature creation is the vicuña throw, woven entirely by hand in the Andes. Crafted by artisans descended from ancient communities, each piece reflects patience, respect, and ancestral savoir-faire refined through generations. Every thread tells a story of origin and tradition.
Once a year, during the ancestral chaku, Andean communities gather to shear the animals before releasing them unharmed. From this ritual comes only a few hundred grams of fiber, making each throw an object of absolute rarity.
Produced in limited editions, every creation is 100% vicuña and fully traceable. Access to Atelier Amauta is reserved for members of our Guardians Circle, attainable only by application.
